Uasin Gishu County Marks World Tourism Day
Uasin Gishu County CECM in charge of Water, Environment, Natural Resources, Tourism and Wildlife Management Mrs. Mary Njogu has called on local tourists to promote tourism within the County and maintain their cultural practices.
Speaking during a one-day exhibition where local exhibitors showcased their artefacts along the AP line street, Njogu said her department is ready to support tourism as this is the only way that tourists visiting Uasin Gishu will learn tourist sites that the County has in place.
The exhibition also saw the marking of World Tourism Day. More than 300 exhibitors were present to showcase their various products.
Uasin Gishu boasts of various sites that double up as both tourist and monumental sites among them being Koromosho falls, Ngara falls and Sergoit hills.
The theme for this year's celebration is "harnessing innovation and digital advances to provide tourism with opportunities with inclusiveness, local community empowerment and efficient resource management" amongst others objectives.
