The Uasin Gishu County Government has said that it will deploy nurses to all special schools across the county. This in addition to equipping them with medical facilities.
This was disclosed today at Kapsoya School for the deaf when the Senate Committee on Education paid a visit to the school among other special schools and Technical Training Institutes within the County.
Giving his address while launching issuance of books and learning materials, Senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka noted the Senate’s support towards special schools saying the house will work closely with all County Governments to ensure that all activities run smoothly in favour of the learners.
The Senate donated over 1000 books to the school and promised to bring more goodies to the institution.
Hon. Lusaka further promised to fast-track the ECDE bill which will see the Counties fully running ECDEs giving it access to many programs and facilities.
The Chair of the Committee Dr. Christopher Langat congratulated the County for the efforts put in constructing over 600 ECDE units across the County as well as building and equipping Vocational Training Institutes.
CEC in Charge of Education Joseph Kurgat who was also accompanied by other county officials expressed the administration's commitment towards uplifting Education in both the ECDEs and Vocation training institutes.
The Committee later toured the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) where they viewed various parts of the institution dealing with innovation and technology.
